For a fourth consecutive year, Virginia has earned the highest possible rating from the U.S. Department of Education for compliance with the federal Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA).

Inova Health System in Falls Church and the University of Virginia in Charlottesville announced today, Nov. 2, that they have agreed to form a comprehensive research and education partnership to include a regional campus of UVa Medical School at Inova, efforts to achieve designation as a Comprehesive Cancer Center and potential commercialization of new discoveries.

For some students, it was Korean pop music and Korean dramas they found on websites that drew them into new Korean classes at Hylton High School; for others, it was Teacher Kyung Mi Kay Choi, who also teaches French in Hylton’s Center for International Studies and Languages. Nearly 360 civics students at Beville Middle School will get a sense of our democracy when they head to “voting booths” in their Dale City area school Nov. 3. Students will vote using paper ballots which will resemble the actual Virginia ballot.

Steven Burke, PE has been selected as the Director of Public Works for the City of Manassas. He will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of all City of Manassas Public Works activities, including the Street Department, Traffic Controls, Vehicle Maintenance, Buildings and Grounds, Cemeteries, Horticulture, Stormwater and Trash and Recycling programs, according to Patty Prince, Communications Manager.
